Privacy
Short version: we don't know who you are, we don't use cookies, and there are no ads.
What we store
- A random player ID. Your browser creates a random ID the first time you play and keeps it in local storage on your device. It isn't linked to your name, email or device.
- Your gameplay. For each round: which statement you picked, whether you were right, whether you chose “I'm sure”, how you said you chose (knew / reasoned / guessed), if you answer, and how long you took. For each game: your score, your local date and time zone offset, whether you shared your result, and that the puzzle was opened (a view count). We use this to run the game (first answers are final) and to see how the beta is going, for example which rounds fool the most people.
- On your device only: your game progress, streak, theme choice, and whether you've seen How to Play, in local storage. You can delete them by clearing this site's data in your browser.
What we don't collect
No names, emails, accounts, free text, precise location or dates of birth. We don't store IP addresses in our database. Cloudflare may process IP addresses briefly in request logs when serving the site.
Analytics
We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It doesn't use cookies or local storage and doesn't fingerprint you. It is not currently switched on.
The site runs on Cloudflare, which processes requests to serve it.
Cookies and ads
This site sets no cookies and shows no ads.
Feedback form
The feedback link opens a separate form. Anything you type there is handled by that form's provider. Please don't include personal details.
Your player ID
Your ID on this device: Not created yet. Play a round first.
It's a random number this browser made. It isn't your name or email.
Your choices
To delete your gameplay data, email us the player ID above and we'll remove it. We keep beta data for at most 24 months.
